Red Dog Casino Review & Bonuses
Launched in 2018, Red Dog is a new USA online casino licensed in Curacao. The website present very fine level of design and user experience, which cannot be found on many US casinos.
Red Dog casino is powered mainly by RTG with additional supplier for live dealer games. For slots, table games and everything else, you will only be able to enjoy RTG’s releases.
When you first open the website, you are treated to a beautifully designed front page. We like the combination of red and white. Once you switch to the lobby, the palette swaps to black and red. The design clearly has mobile play in focus with large, easy to tap tiles. Desktop users will still find it quite easy to navigate with a mouse.
As usual, we recommend some level of caution when joining a new casino before you see how things work, although from the level of investment our bet is that Red Dog is here to stay.
Red Dog Bonuses & Promotions
There are numerous promotions available to players. None of them really stood out as unique, but they’re a good value for money. The minimum deposit you have to make to be eligible for a promotion might be different depending on what payment method you selected.
New gamblers will be treated to a 225% Welcome bonus! If you make a deposit using Neosurf or Bitcoin, the casino throws in an extra 20% on top of that. To be eligible to claim the promotion, you have to deposit at least $10 with Neosurf or $20 with Bitcoin. In contrast, if you deposited using a credit card, you have to pay at least $30.
You cannot wager more than $10 on each spin. Players have to meet the 35x the deposit + bonus wagering requirement before they can convert the bonus cash into real money.
The 24/7 promotion gives you a boost on all deposits! You get a 120% bonus for deposits over $30, 135% for $75+ and 160% for bets over $150! If you make the deposit using Neosurf or Bitcoin, you get an extra 25% on top of what the promotion already offers. The terms and conditions are identical to the welcome bonus.
Each month, Red Dog will select a different game to highlight as its Game of the Month. It usually comes with a percentage bonus, as well as a few free spins to keep things interesting! Since the title and terms change each month, we cannot go into any further detail.
Software & Games
The operator supports instant-play directly from their website. However, if you prefer, you can download a casino client for your Windows desktop. They also list an iOS client as ‘Coming Soon’.
Red Dog has a total of 207 available games. This number includes video slots, progressive slots, all table games, video poker, arcade games and live casino titles. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this casino has a large selection of table games. All games are provided by two developers: Real Time Gaming (RTG) and Visionary iGaming.
When we wrote this review, there were only 120 video slots available to play and they’re all provided by one developer. And while we appreciate casinos sticking to just one software provider, that time has long passed. Red Dog welcomes players from the US, Australia and Europe. If they hope to keep them there, they will have to diversify their offering by bringing in new developers. A large number of slots also come with a demo version that you can try out.
There are a total of 6 progressive jackpot games. Three of them are video slots, two of them are poker tables and we also have a Let’Em Ride title. Unfortunately, you are unable to try a demo version for progressive jackpot games. You can check how high the jackpot has climbed by looking at the number beneath each title.
You get to play 15 table games, most of which fall into the Blackjack and table poker category. You get four blackjack titles and four table poker games. Gamblers can also enjoy a round of baccarat, pontoon and Vegas Three Card Rummy.
The live casino is actually in a separate tab and you cannot even access it without registering an account first. It also swaps back to the red and white design here, which is super annoying for the eyes. You have 9 available titles here. Three blackjack, two roulette, two baccarat and two Super6 tables. Each table, excluding blackjack, has several table limits, catering to different categories of players.
If there’s one place where the RTG partnership pays off, it’s for the arcade games section. Gamblers will be able to enjoy Banana Jones and Fish Catch, two very unique gambling experiences. For whatever reason, roulette is also listed under specialty instead of table games. To top off the collection, we have Craps, Keno and Treasure Tree. There’s also an extensive video poker section, which has multiple versions of the same few titles.
Red Dog allows deposits using Visa, MasterCard, Bitcoin, gift cards or Neosurf. Each choice has a different deposit limit. All deposits are instant except for Bitcoin which takes about 15 minutes to process. The casino does not charge you any deposit fees.
Withdrawals can only be done by credit card, bank wire or Bitcoin. Your minimum withdrawal is $150, while the maximum is $2,500 per transaction. You can increase your maximum by raising your Customer Level or through an agreement with your VIP Host. Bitcoin is processed within 1 to 3 business days. Credit cards take anywhere between 3 and 4 business days and bank wire transfers take 5 business days.
We checked the terms and conditions but did not find any mention of fees for inactive accounts.
Red Dog mentions several times that they take gambler security quite seriously. All data transferred to and from the casino is protected using a 256-bit SSL encryption. They also make use of top-notch security algorithms, which are also used by banks and massive corporations to protect your data. Your payment options are quite limited compared to what other casinos offer. That being said, the operator does allow you to play with Bitcoins and they seem to be the best choice.
Red Dog has its good sides, but it has too many flaws we cannot overlook. The operator needs to decide on a consistent design. Swapping between different colours on the website, the lobby and the live casino section is not a good user experience. On top of that, the lobby could use a slight visual update, as the existing one looks a bit dated. That being said, they shouldn’t touch the ability to sort by game type.
While we love RTG titles as much as the next person, we cannot commit to a casino with only their games. We also have concerns with the operator’s Curacao license. At this time, we cannot recommend Red Dog casino. If more software providers are added and the operator gets a better license, then they will have our full support.
