Pirate Isle slot is a new game developed by RTG. I’ve played this slot few times since its launch in September 2015 and I have to admit that I wasn’t able to wrap my ahead around this one.
Without a doubt this is a unique slot machine, for sure comparing to what we got used to expect from RTG slots. First, it’s stacked with various animations, videos and 3D effects. Second, it has many unusual multilevel bonus features, that takes time to figure out.
In terms of appearance, Pirate Isle more resembles various BetSoft 3D slots than a common RTG game. RTG slots are usually pretty straightforward – simple graphics, free spins, maybe a Pick Me bonus game and that’s it. Symbols
Pirate Isle slot features 2 scattered symbols: the Treasure Chest and the Galleon. The Treasure Chest is the one that triggers the Treasure Chest Bonus and the Free Spins and it’s always active. The Galleon is the one that gets you to the special Galleon bonus game, but it’s active only when the Extra Bet Feature is enabled.
The Skeleton Key is the wild symbol. During the regular play it appears only on the third reel. It is a grouped wild, meaning it covers the whole reel creating multiple winning combinations. It also serves as a multiplier and doubles your winnings.
Another special symbols are the Treasure Chest Keys. There are 5 of those and if you get 3 of them inline, the specific key will be activated and used during the free spins.
Treasure Chest Bonus Round and Free Spins
This is the main bonus feature of the slot and the most rewarding one. To trigger it you will need to get 3 scattered Treasure Chests anywhere on the reels. Then you will need to pick a location on a map to reveal a Chest, a Map or a Ghost.
- If you find a chest- you will get a prize and another pick. If the key that opens the chest is active – your prize will be tripled.
- If you find the Treasure Map – you get another round of picks ( a new map of the island).
- If you pick the Ghost it will end the bonus feature and you will be directed to the Free Spins. You can get up to 100 Free Spins, however if all treasure keys are active then the number of free spins is tripled.
During the free spins the Grouped Wild can appear on reels 2,3 and 4; and if you get Three Treasure Chest scatters you will be awarded 15 additional spins.
Extra Bet Feature
To trigger this bonus game you need to enable the Extra Bet at the right corner of the slot and then to get 3 or more Galleon scatters. Here you will fight against enemy Galleons for their treasures.
Pirate Isle Extra Bet Feature
This is a cumulative feature – every time it is triggered your wins add up and you can reach higher and higher prizes. The highest is x1000 your bet and the Jackpot.
